These rugs are from the Gördes region of Turkey, hand-knotted using the traditional Ghiordes knot technique. They’re known for their prayer designs, and often depict a mihrab, which is an archway symbolizing a mosque and the direction of mecca. They can feature sharp, angular designs and/or botanical motifs. Highly collectible.
